and that was going to become of the trials and tribulations of doing a zoom call to teach them I know most of you have been using Zoom for obviously with everything school going on all right awesome so everyone's been using zoom on and off for meetings as well as classes on so this kind of is a bit of a high-level tutorial but then diving a little bit more into some of the details of the issues I hear people having some specific issues with the books with students as well as their own and also breakout rooms and some of the other technology going to share my Chromebook cuz it's the best way to show you guys the interface while actually still sharing it real quick I'll show you how to share into the sack so in case you have it before you have going to do that for a second so we're looking at right now is my my Chromebook and what I'm going to do is going to get a little chaotic for a second but I'm going to open up the inside to show you guys it's going to a little weird cuz I'm sharing a screen of a zoom that I'm assuming so it's going to look weird for a second but especially when you get into the zoom a lot of your options and features are going to be based right here in the anyway to share my whole screen standby sorry about that text. I was realizing I was going to well let me go to I guess on the side so the major issues I'm hearing everyone in the I will add to the list you guys can kind of fill me in on Ark reading Zoom meetings on the two different approaches to doing that one of the easiest approaches to actually go through the zoo interface so when you have how many of you are using pcpc here or Mac call Susan pick your Mac to know when using Chromebook in this group or Max side and let me share that screen you have a nap under your program files or under your app files Museum Mac called Zoom and within the zoo math is a couple different things you can do ahead of you know you're going to reschedule your class I mean home screen you can actually click on schedule and I'll bring up the ability to schedule recurring meeting schedule one-off Etc I'll see you guys the calendar approaching just a moment the other thing you'll be able to find from here is a meeting do you have coming up so if for some reason you know you have a meeting that you can't find on your calendar if he invited you to the meeting it should appear in here or if you set up a meeting and you can't find in your calendar come over to meetings and you'll see him on the west side I have a number of meetings in here except recurring meetings I have set up on including the board meeting which I a moderate so I said that meeting right here with all of its information editing those are as quick as easy as quick on the meeting when I edit States you can change passcode an issue with someone that gave a link of some of you want to have that link that you do want to have  everybody you can update their and send out the passcode everybody you want to make sure everyone always uses video you can also do your audio settings in here as well as some of the other settings on the Apple side I'm sorry on the calendar so I should say you can actually create Zoom meeting I'm sure most of you have already done this but let me just show you set up a meeting tomorrow for noon and when you create the meeting is going to have a prom make sure you don't set up make it has a new meaning to ask you that it all your insurance information I asked you to send it as soon as you hit make it a zoom meeting so in this regard the sun Terry is going to pick up when you click on make it a zoom meeting is immediately going to put in Augusta in stuff into the notes which is the zoom information and it's been asked to spend it out now you can actually say I'm not ready to send it yet that won't break that allowed the zoom to still be a zoom meeting at you if you put them back to editing you'll notice that now your Zoom meeting info Skeeter as well as what I tend to do is I'll actually copy to sim information here into the location field just do people see in both places so it's very obvious that it's available for some people won't read the notes to stay where we meeting and they won't know so maybe put a location in here than you'll be you'll see it safe it's going to ask me to update Terry to the Sims already sent out and I changed it so I'm going to hit send and now it's right here and it shows that it's an HTTP URL so that means it's a zoom meeting but I know what to do meeting so not to wander around district meeting with the other benefit is if you actually Mouse over your location filled it allow you to click that link and open up open up the meeting now when you create a meeting you have to join the meeting before anyone else can I can't click on this now because of kick me out of this Zoom meeting but what you might find happen is when you click on it and it comes up and says the meeting is waiting on the host and you are the host it just means that for some reason your Zoom is locked out so that should be a little sign in link on that pop up that comes up that you can click on that allow you to enter your Google sorry Google credentials are you School credentials and at that point I will start the meeting I've had a couple people run is that issue yet and it didn't carry over to zoom so just something kind of keep in mind in case you run into that meeting I was Tracer at the meetings about 5-10 minutes before meeting is supposed to be scheduled to begin to make sure especially with technology being as reliable as it is so that's the basics of the zoom inside nobody has any questions to pacifically on Zoom meeting creation I'll move on to the next part I'm going to go over adding co-host so one of the cool things you can do is let's say I know a little bit with let's see Kerry's meeting with the union and is going to be a host in the Union in the back of the net Zoom as in window here and I'm going to create a new meeting and that's a very or is it here new meeting here I'm his stays closed and I'm going over to meetings and find that meeting I just created right here and it said it you can actually add under Advanced options so if you click on that meeting and you click edit go down Advanced options you can add a co-host so if the board meeting Amy the co-host moderate but I wanted her to be held up in case I have an internet issue at home or something I don't wanna be the reason the porch so Amy is put in there The Coho so she can start running larger group meetings not sure you don't you just said you have to pick up the kids baking running late snowy Rose whatever the condition it's a good chance to be able to put that in there and not have to worry about that kind of check out to if you're really trying to do a 6 p.m. you can also say the only effective Katie users can join in at that means they have to have a zoom account and with that sometimes means if you're not going to get the people that might just drop in that might have linked I should have that issue if you're using a password I'll be up so again that was quick on the meeting click on edit all the way to bottom Advanced option but an alternate host then you can't do that unfortunately from when you create a meeting from scratch right there so same thing all the way the bottom Advanced options alternate post where you can't do that traumas you can't do that from Google this is my meeting was created in Google so it's going to be a host and that's part of the benefit of using Zoom side in a separately creating a calendar invite with people so so do you create in the zoom first or you can create it in Google Calendar if you want to add a co-host make sure you create it in zoom and if you want to if you don't want to add a co-host you just want to add a meeting quickly to your calendar go ahead and is due in Google Calendar of easier how do I cancel this meeting before here so that way we're not having to do that all right so Eric could I pick you up for a second and I are not 100% seeing what you're talking about I can see your calendar and I could see like the zoo meeting you created but when you were Cricket Wireless hovering around to show us different features to see what you were hovering over this the zoom not sharing you just take a screenshot I can see that a meeting ID you can click on that schedule but it popped up with the ability to create a meeting in here and at the very bottom is a dance-off I didn't realize um doesn't share the whole screen I guess I should have but that's a good thing cuz we have to troubleshoot when we're really doing this so friendly but sharing Zoom itself so all right my next part was making participant co-host do you understand what I'm going to walk you through it if you can kind of understand if I'm going to be off for SEC we've all seen the zoom window and it's open at the very bottom there's a spot where you Lashley Grant people access or like as the kids pop up your stay at on the screen this is what it looks like when your mouse over someone's name you could more make suppose is an option to make them that way they can access information they can also have a little control over what they're sharing stuff so that that's it she's the one presenting or talking at the time do more personal screen friends are doing this is a good way to get breaking out a breakout room breakout rooms are really helpful if you're going to have the say funny kids in the middle class he wants me out of work on Friday so you might want to break that 20 kids up the four different groups so I will screenshot pedicure so this is the screenshot what I was looking at all of you lovely people on here at the bottom it's going to have breakout room which is not showing here but it was a breakout room hosting when you click on that is going to give you the option to create as many breakups what are they find Health bowl is a big kids on a scientist Pacific Caboose yet you just want them broken on an auto sign and will do with them evenly across those rum kids or people are in that meeting if you do have groups are working and already that's where you going to want to actually be beside me anyway and that's where it is a prompt I want to do it manually the next one hit next the next screen to come I'm picking on the screenshot of you guys the next Green can actually show the number of rooms that you created that last frame and is going to let you click a sign if you want to put in that role helpful because then you can actually choose specifically do you want to assign suppose you can jump out in back in each room seated make sure the guitar stay on task this might be more helpful for the middle school but high school projects when are not being monitored but that's up to you guys. How you guys doing this could also be really helpful on the business side back of questions. Turn off store near meeting so that's the breakout room are the one of the things is the bracelet rooms have a way to chat with you when you want to send a message on right side under under chat option to click on option to close the breakout room I will give them a warning that the room going to be closing up in 30 seconds or minutes whatever you choose is that so that's something I kind of helped you give them a heads up all right again this is not easy to always show but sharing tends to be one of those things that is confusing but it's got a lot of features you can choose from in Xoom let me show you what that looks like I can find you a heads-up he's going so I have three desktop monitor so it's showing me three different desktop my main desktop is that stuff on in this is going to share anything that you have to keep in mind if you're doing a email or something close your email if your messaging people goes your messages cuz those are pop-up will be distracting so if you want to use this option then make sure that you minimizing don't want to share you recommend not using the song I try to share the specifics what's the temperature in a Google Document I'm going to go to that Google browser that is open and find the one who has a document what I normally do is actually open the document I'm in the zoom Bike Share and I'll choose windows that window what I'll do is out temporarily stop sharing that section Sprain and then when you stop moving the window and start caring the other thing to keep in mind if you want to share this one thing I read to wear up if you want to hear something on your phone maybe it's something you can do that that's this auction has the iPhone well actually get your iPhone cable into your computer plug it into your phone a great big something Washington through Hopper to use it in the case of a business dietary you might actually be used to show people Frontline app explained where it is and you do not have to sit next to you special time to work is really helpful I don't know if anyone's use it yet just leave the whiteboard in the classroom it literally become the wife where we can actually explain things people now mind you as power of your mouse pad is working right now how many people got deported by that right now so you did let you quickly be able to show off stop and explain things to them clear format a raise stamp however you need and if you try and explain people you change the color of the arrow very easily I like it I can figure out if you can only change draw do texts use of you trying to explain something you can feel and whatever you can explain equations in the text and said so sometimes we have easier than keep in mind when you click the save button I will be in here to your folder I had a little thing as a short finder show in Boulder whiteboard is awesome to the other one I want to show you guys is the more advanced share option share that with you stop why do the backgrounds if you're doing this is more corporate this kind of interesting if you're doing a big presentation and you want to head off to the side why is the background and then the other one I want to show you on here like 4 quick this and shoes in Texas green iguana show us something that you don't want your entire window view desktop video features that are helpful to use you know when he don't got on here but you might be meeting for the class and want to hear some music. Where this would have done the buffer that if you're trying to hear music or audio in a buffer that doesn't sound like it's the way they overhead camera sharing up on the display you want to show you can do that if you want to get more than one else a which one if you only have one and it's like that one yes I share my whiteboard all the time with the student to do math with him and also a I share my screen with him and do virtual manipulatives seems like when I do a test run with other adults who have a regular laptop they are able to take annotation control try to get him to do what he can't do it on his neck is that true the Chromebook have more limiting factors than PPC the max to the hole for money thank you because I don't know what you guys have but this I work with just I work virtually myself with virtual students from 10 to 2:30 all day everyday and I wonder if it's possible for those students to get something other than a Chromebook so that I can interact with them easy easily prefer that to your add them cuz they would have Rob okay thank you other questions insurance okay I know right I try to keep these classes to half an hour right on schedule just helpful I'm going to go over a couple things here when you are actually in let's share the admin bar see when you're in room so the on the admin bar this is what you should see if you're working on it from your PC or Mac a couple of things I've heard people using are the breakout room on the reactions are helpful on everyone has a reaction button for Life happy to see hear something done raise your hand over in the computer I was put on my computer because it's easier to later and sometimes the cloud takes longer to upload and download so if you have the room in the computer class and somebody else it's always a help the files aren't super cute most the time they're less than 20 megabyte which is surprising for a full meeting they're not super high resolution for that reason trying to help Old Navy the older ages how can I get a feel for what people want to learn and everyone gets that prompt in front of bed give me a couple minutes to actually answer I'm you'll see the results chat you can just evil chat or keep it enabled if you keep it in Mabel one of the things to keep in mind and figure out other and you can see those so I had to disable them keep in mind this is also helpful if you're trying to keep benefit you don't want all the staff members talking. Another participant button if you're on in someone's trying to join in most of how about this but you're not finding them the message I'm texting you saying I can't get in sometime when you're scrolling through I only test because I've done that the first two meetings are board meeting I missed a couple people are sitting in the waiting room couple minutes tonight now if you share a meeting with specific people under the chat are you dumb I have to delay for second of how to do screenshot cuz it has to save the file when you are in the chest thing there is a little hamburger menu they call him to three dots or three lines normally when you click on that you can actually control his now what were you confused he has a great really are okay under the participant this more button has couple helpful Tools in it really helped you can ask everyone that can talk anyone raise their hands it doesn't come down automatically baby that have to take their own hand down or you have to click lower hands mute upon entry really help will be doing a large group but the other one better going to be a meeting and I know it's only seven of us that's only seven people that have the link you don't want to have to bond in the waiting room table waiting room and do not worry about other people having that link and getting in its real helpful or is he going to know this phone is always check and rename themselves and I I want to ask you some questions on this questions on zoom in general and I went through a lot of things and I'm here to help afterwards what is your question yes on the mute participants upon entry is there a way that Septa on the zoom settings itself instead of unclicking that everytime I still miss somebody because I have so many seconds a day and always have to go and unclick yep yep actually when you're in you're in you don't get the screenshot and send it to you there is a way to do what I must yeah there's a way to do and I'm just remember where it is yeah I don't know but I will find it give it to you alright well thank you everyone if you guys do have questions you know how to get ahold of me Johnston or 5655 one of the two here to help you guys out and give a buddy on sometimes the simplest things trying to work on this stuff so you know audio setting for the house on different microphones and shoes from the speaker and sometimes our laptops I choose the wrong one injector so rather have to restart sometimes you just have to check that make sure you're on the right speaker is in the Right microphone I have two microphones here and sometimes the other one gets elected so have a good day I literally spend all day on Zoom so I have a lot of them I also have her heard that instead of making individual invitations for all the meetings you can just create a link just for your name so how is I mean is that you have to do that under the sea are you do that on the calendar what you would do what I would do in the zoo now when you click that it will go away he's not going to give you a custom URL but it will give you a URL it's always end the same you can share that out of the button on the pages to do now keep in mind early like I already a request made by is Rockwell have a great evening drive safe
