This memo is a reminder that, as part of our Emergency Response Plan the MTSD conducts Relocation exercises. During a Relocation, faculty and staff lead our students to a designated off campus location. Students practice moving safely from the school to the designated area and they become familiar with the layout of the location, and what to do upon arrival.
Relocation exercises reminders:
-
Are within walking distance.
-
Students walk to the designated location and return to school by foot or by bus.
-
Families are notified in advance of the exercise.
-
All exercises are being planned with as little disruption to the school day as possible.
-
Please do not come to the relocation sites or school to watch the drill or pick up your child as this can interfere with student safety.
This Spring, the MTSD will conduct separate relocation exercises for grades K-8, and 9-12. Please note, although PreK will be in session, those students will not participate in this relocation exercise.
If you have questions regarding the Relocation exercise or any of our safety drills, do not hesitate to contact us. 802-893-5302.
Sincerely,
Amy Rex, Superintendent of Schools
