Winter in Vermont can be unforgiving. With average temperatures in the Milton area dipping below freezing and often dropping into the teens and single digits on the coldest days, adequate winter clothing isn’t just a comfort — it’s a necessity. For many in our community, staying warm shouldn’t be a luxury, yet too many families lack the essential gear needed to face harsh winter weather.
That’s why the Rotary and Interact Clubs at Milton High School are proud to host a Winter Gear Drive — because no child, neighbor, or family should have to endure the season without proper winter protection.
Why Your Support Matters
• Many local households struggle with the rising cost of living, and winter gear is often an unaffordable extra.
• Exposure to cold weather without proper clothing can lead to hypothermia and other serious health risks — especially for children and older adults.
• Last winter, community centers across our region saw a significant increase in requests for coats, boots, hats, and gloves.
How You Can Help
We are collecting new and gently used winter essentials, including:

🧣 Hats & scarves
🥾 Boots & warm socks
All donations will be distributed directly to the Milton Family Community Center to support those in greatest need.
