In no particular order (and I am sure I am leaving some things out) I am a musician, ex-collegiate football player, car lover, traveler, New England native, cook, skier (all varieties), runner, people person, graduate student, cyclist, reader, artist (but not a very good one), fisherman (not good at this one either), hiker, kayaker, lover of sociology and psychology, and gear fanatic. However, in the past few years I have added two defining characteristics of which I am most proud, becoming a father of two and becoming a teacher. Although the two have been hard to juggle at times, the daily reinforcement at home and at school of the importance of strong relationships to the growth of all children and the growth and success as a result of these relationships has provided any extra needed motivation. One of my favorite opportunities as a teacher is connecting with students through a common interest and connecting those interests to the greater world. In teaching, I feel that the same connections are necessary for students to value what they are doing and be motivated to learn more and more. As the Math and Science teacher and master of all things left-brained, I look forward to facilitating these connections in the world of Math and Science and I may even slip in a little Social Studies and Language Arts when they are not looking. BA in Psychology, Colby College, 2000
