My life has been full of children and students.  As a member of Future Teachers of America I taught my first math class.  Mr M. had been a favorite teacher of mine and he said I could do it.  My life has been enriched because of them.

Overview of Math Program

This year we are continuing to use Math Thematics for both the 7th and 8th graders. This program is fully aligned with Vermont’s Framwork of Standards and Learning Opportunities and has been approved by the Vermont Institute for Science, Math and Technology. This program develops mathematical concepts and skills through exploratory activity-based learning using a wide range of topics. Each module (chapter) focuses on a theme that encourages students to apply math skills to real-life situations in a variety of engaging settings. The 7th graders will be working out of Book 2 (blue book) and the 8th graders will be working out of Book 3 (green book). It is the expectation that we will complete the first four modules in each book. Students will also be working on portfolio problems and on basic computational skills throughout the year.
