My name is Robert DeCicco and I have the distinctive pleasure of teaching 7th and 8th grade science on team Apollo.  I hold a B.A. from Lehigh University in Psychology with a Biology minor.  I am a student-centered teacher. I believe peer-to-peer and student-to-teacher relationships are the cornerstone to learning, particularly at the middle school level.  I work tirelessly to nurture those relationships.  I provide hands-on activities for students to develop a conceptual understanding of the content.  I supplement these activities with reading, writing, discussion, group work and other practices to solidify their understanding.

Currently, Milton Middle School is on a two-year cycle between physical and life science.  This year students are learning Life Science.  Unit topics include: 
1) Scientific Method/Inquiry/Measurement
2) What is life?/Classification
3) Microscopes/ Cells
4) Human Body Systems
5) Genetics/ Natural Selection
6) Ecosystems/ Evolution

         I am a lifelong learner and learn from my students just as much as I instruct them.  When I’m not teaching, I pursue several hobbies.  I enjoy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, hiking, writing, listening and playing music, traveling and much more.  I have been married for 7 years to a wonderful lady named Kellie and have a three-year old son named Amelio.
