I have taught English in Vermont for twenty-five years, the last seven years have been at Milton High School. I graduated from the University of Vermont then got my masters in English from Syracuse University. This year I will teach two sections of juniors in Advanced Placement Language and Composition and two sections of seniors in Advanced Placement Literature and Composition. These two courses provide some college level instruction at the high school level. These courses run for the first three quarters. Quarter four I will teach SAT Exam preparation for the two exam sections dealing with grammar, reading comprehension, and writing.

Some of the highlights of the year for me are The Community Book Discussions each month on Independent Reading Choices. Also, the annual University of Vermon Essay Competition generates a lot of good writing from our students. This last year a junior, Katrina Battle, won second place for juniors for the state of Vermont.
