Vermont Youth Conservation
Corps

 Crews of members work on watershed restoration and trail maintenance. There are both day crews and residential programs. Any Vermont resident between 16-21 years of age. Applications in by winter amd interviews are during April and May.
VSAC Talent Search VSAC counselors works with students throughout  high school to help them with career decisions, college selections, and financial aid. Students can qualify if they are first generation college, or low income. Students must have a desire to attend college. Have your guidance counselor fill out a recommendation form and then the VSAC rep will setup an interview.
Upward Bound Upward Bound offers a free 6 week summer program at Johnson State College and opportunities to visit college campuses. Any 9th or 10th grader whose parents do not have a 4 year college degree or who earn a modest income. Sign up here
Boys and Girls State Students attend a one week summer program at a college campus to learn the fundamentals of governmental process. Offered to students who have completed their junior year of high school. Chosen based on  characteristics of leadership, responsibility, and integrity. (Students who are interested in Boys and Girls state should be active and involved in school and community activities.)  
Governor's Institute of Vermont Governor's Institute of Vermont has programs in the Arts, Asian Cultures, Public Issues, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Sciences. Governor's Institute of Vermont has winter weekend programs and 1 and 2 week summer programs. Open to all high school students who want to experience a hands on approach in one of Vermont's most exciting programs for high school students.  
UVM Sophomore Summit Workshops intended to promote higher education awareness, the college application process, and a mini tour of the campus. 10 grade students are eligible, only 5 will be chosen. no deadline – all sophomores are eligible.
Hobby Unique leadership training, service learning and motivation building experiences. Weekend long leadership camp in Vermont. 10 grade students, only one student will be chosen. 10 grade students, only one student will be chosen. All Sophomores are eligible, the chosen student will be picked by the scholarship comittee.
