Read all the books on the Community Book Discussion list for next year.

1.Keep a journal of your reading and bring it to the first day of class.  We will discuss these books the first week and all through the year.  There will be an assessment the first week of school on the Summer Reading.

 2. Also, on the first day bring an essay.
Essay Assignment:  Write a one to two page essay.
Prompt: “Tough challenges reveal our strengths and weaknesses.”
Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue.  Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your summer reading.

Stop by room 213 either before school, after school, or period one to sign out your books.
