Uji is famous for its green tea. While in Uji, we saw green tea growing in the hillsides. We were given a lecture on the history of green tea. And we were honored to be invited to a tea ceremony. Uji tea is very green--midori!

(The teahouse directly above is placed on the grounds of the National museum. The ladies had just left a modern day tea ceremony. The pictures at the top of the page took place in the teahouse in Uji.)
