We stayed in the city of Uji and visited the
former imperial city of Kyoto.
Uji is a special place because of the Byodoin temple.
One of the world's oldest novels, The Tales of Genji was
written in Uji. In Uji, I also saw traditional clothing and
I was a guest at a
tea ceremony. Uji
is famous for its green tea!

Here is a delicious traditional Uji meal of rice (gohan) and fish [cooked in the packet], soba or udon noodles, eel, wasabi, quail's egg, green tea, and much, much more!
