It was a beautiful day in late November. I listened to a man playing the musical saw. I saw many stray cats. My fellow travelers took me to an old temple. We ate a great outdoor lunch of teriyaki, a type of fried sweet potato, and corn on the cob. There was a moving memorial to Peace which included pictures of Hiroshima and Nagasaki shortly after the bombings.
Local cub scouts were having a picnic lunch. They dressed just as they do in America. I was children feeding pigeons and petting the many stray cats. Then my fellow travelers and I moved on to the great National museums of Tokyo--located very nearby. I was lucky enough to catch a traveling exhibit of ancient Chinese terra cotta statues found at an important archeological dig some years back. In the Japanese exhibits, I was particularly interested in the separate displays of Kabuki costumes and Samurai armor. We passed beautiful fruit trees as we left . . .
