My name is Ruth Murphy. I am reading specialist @ Milton Elementary School. I have also worked as a middle and high school Spanish teacher, as well as a bilingual preschool teacher.
I have four children, ages 16-25. I grew up in Boston, and graduated from Wheelock College with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. I studied Spanish in Boston, Spain and Costa Rica before getting a Ed.M in Reading and Language from Harvard University in 1981. In 2007, I completed the coursework for certification as a K-12 English as a Second Language teacher. In my spare time, I read and walk my dog. I love my job!
