May 17, 2010 - This week we are working on words with "oy" and "oi".

We are writing "winter" stories. We learned about writing a good transition sentence that builds suspense!
Ally - All of a sudden the ice started to crack.
Austin - Just then Dan fell off his snowboard.
David - All of a sudden Billy's feet fell into the deep snow.
Kendra - Out of nowhere Scamper and Maya heard a noise.
Madison - Just then Emma started to cry.
Noah - Suddenly they ran out of tea.
Rose-Lee - Out of nowhere a snowstorm came by.
We are also working on word choice (using descriptive words and phrases).
Manolis - Theo was walking in the quiet woods at dawn.
Kayden - The next day when Mickayla and Alex went to the violet pond....
Jaden - Then Bear got stuck in the deep, deep snow.
Hailey - The snow was swirling.
Ana - Jake was catching sugary snow on his tongue.

Our end of the year field trip will be on Tuesday, June 8th. We are going to the Birds of Vermont Museum in Huntington. Look for permission slips to come home this week. |
