These Valentines share love—and time
This Valentine’s Day, show your child he is loved with handmade heart time-vouchers. Here’s how: Cut out some paper hearts. On each heart, put a time—10, 15, 30 minutes or an hour. Each voucher is good for the specified amount of time with you. Then let your child turn in a voucher any time he wants your undivided attention. Be sure to tell your child every day that you love him!

Read all about it—on a current events wall
One way to keep your child in touch with what’s happening in the world is by creating a current events wall together. Encourage your child to look through magazines and newspapers and cut out pictures and news items about current events. Post them on a bulletin board. Older children can sort the stories into categories, such as local, national and world articles. Change the display every week or two.
