What makes a book better for young readers? These six things
Children just learning to read need books that help them along. When you visit the library with your child, look for books with: 1. Rhythm and rhyme. 2. Repeated words and sentences. 3. Predictable plots. 4. Events that follow a natural time sequence. 5. Pictures that provide clues to what is happening. 6. A plot or character your child can relate to. Let your child check out several to read with you at home.
