Pipe cleaners and puzzles make letters hands-on
Some children like to learn by touching. Try these hands-on activities to help your early reader learn letters: 1. Play with pipe cleaners. Have your child bend the pipe cleaners into letters. 2. Match puzzle pieces. Write the capital and lowercase versions of a letter on each of 26 index cards. Cut the cards in half in a curvy pattern, mix them up and have your child match each capital letter with its lowercase.
