What is the value of a chore well done?
From time management to responsibility, chores at home teach children many things that will help them in school. But should you pay your child for doing chores? For everyday tasks, maybe not. Kids should make their own contributions to keeping the family and home running smoothly. For big or extra jobs, some parents use a reward system. Assign points for jobs that your child can cash in for rewards.

Get organized with individual bulletin boards
To encourage your children to keep track of their own busy schedules, try putting up a bulletin board for each child. Include bus schedules, reminders, and a calendar each child can use to record activities, assignments or other events. If a form or permission slip needs to be returned to school, put it in an envelope tacked to that child’s bulletin board. Your children should check their boards every day.
