This Week:

·        We have spent a lot of the week finishing up assessments so I could grade report cards.  Report cards are being sent home today so you will have time to look them over before coming to our conference.  There is a cover letter to help you understand how to read the report card.  This is the first time using this report card so we hope our explanations help you understand what you are reading.

·        Below is my master conference schedule to help you remember when you are scheduled.  If you cannot make the appointment, please call me at school 893-3215 ext. 1603 or send me an email so we can reschedule.  cking@mtsd-vt.org

·        Students have been sharing their baby pictures as part of our Social Studies assessment.  It is called Change over Time.  We will continue to share until all students have had their turn.  Once all students have shared, I will send home the baby pictures you sent in.  If you haven’t sent a baby picture yet, it is not too late!

·        We have begun our unit on Thanksgiving.  Please share with your child what your family will be doing for thanksgiving as we will be making a graph of where they will have thanksgiving dinner.

·        Miss Gafney, our student teacher from UVM, helped the children make their vest to wear to the feast.  They also made a pattern headdress to wear as part of their costume, too.  Next week we will make a pattern necklace to finish off our costume.

·        We will be baking corn muffins as our contribution of food for our feast.  Our final item is to make butter from cream.  The children are really amazed how easy it is to make butter.

Next Week:

·        The highlight of this week will be our feast.  We will have thanksgiving as a kindergarten on Thursday afternoon.  I will try to post some pictures to my webpage after the feast.  http://www.mtsd-vt.org/mes/Teacher_Pages/CKing/mrsking.htm
