Encourage writing thank-you notes
Writing thank-you notes hones writing skills. Expressing gratitude can also boost a child’s spirits and build character. When you give special thanks, say why you’re thanking someone. Explain what someone’s kind words mean to you. It’s common to thank someone for a present. But your child can also write notes to: Thank her teacher for something special she did. Cheer someone up. Tell someone she misses them.
