Do you know what teachers really want from parents?
Little things can make a big difference to your child’s learning. Here’s what teachers wish parents would do: 1. Build their children’s confidence with praise and love. 2. Send their children to school with a healthy lunch. 3. Ask their children about their day at school. 4. Support their children’s homework efforts. 5. Schedule some peaceful reading time each evening. 6. Partner with teachers to support their children.

The time to teach time management starts now
To succeed in school, your child will need to be able to plan her time wisely. Begin building this skill by teaching her to be a calendar- and clock-watcher. Have her count off the days until her birthday, spring break or a special family outing. Ask her to watch the clock to make sure the family leaves on time for school, work or other activities.
