EIGHTH GRADE TECHNOLOGY

The Junior High Technology program has been created to teach students and to introduce faculty to various areas of technology. The time frame would be done through three tri-semesters which are twelve weeks long.

The primary purpose for the seventh grade is for students to learn Keyboarding and applying proper technique to Keyboarding.

The emphasis for the eighth grade program is to introduce Computer Applications and other areas of technology.

Seventh grade students will learn to operate the keyboard rapidly and efficiently through touch typing. All instruction is done on the personal computer. Fundamental skills and correct techniques and posture are developed with drills for speed and accuracy. Basic formatting and editing skills are introduced for outputting mailable documents such as simple reports and personal business letters.

All eighth grade students will be using their keyboarding skills and applying them to computer applications. During the twelve week tri-semester, students will be introduced to:

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft PowerPoint

Microsoft Works Database

Digital Imaging Including Photoshop

Web Page Design Using Claris Works
