There was an unexpected chemical reaction in one of the Milton High School science labs during a student project. Due to the nature of the experiment, an alarm was set off.
All students and staff were evacuated from the building for approximately 35 minutes. Students closest to the chemical reaction where evaluated by medical personnel and no injuries were found.
The fire department determined when it was safe for students and staff to re-enter the building.
