1. Read the 5 Mexican holiday choices and as a group select 2 to visit.
2. Visit the holiday site buttons for your 2 choices.
3. Complete a Holiday Tour form for EACH.
4. Now choose 1 holiday out of the two you have been introduced to explore in depth.
5. Return to its home page and begin traveling to the other website listings.
6. Your group will complete 2 of the following 5 tasks:
a. Find a holiday recipe from the given Recipe / Receta sites.
2. Take this same recipe and prepare it outside of class.
3. Bring it in to share with the other students.
b. Find a holiday decoration or craft from the sites available and:
2. collect materials to make craft.
3. make craft.
4. be prepared to explain the process of making the
craft and the significance it has for the holiday.
c. Find a popular song used for the holiday and translate into English. Type out both versions. (If song is already translated, it doesn't count!)
d. Create a diarama or other 3-dimensional representation which illustrates a holiday scene. Label at least 15 things in Spanish and English.
e. Create a holiday invitation inviting others to your holiday party. Include:
2. have appropriate graphics, images, designs for the holiday.
3. have appropriate holiday date(s) for party.
4. list appropriate activities to be performed at the holiday party.
5. list appropriate items for guests to bring (food, gifts, party favors, etc).
7. Your group is required to complete the following:
b. We will present all items to the class and explain our holidays.
8. Our holiday unit will culminate in a fiesta which will include comida, musica, y una piñata!
