Are you ready for a vacation; a break from school? Well, pack your bags. We're going on a field trip to some far away lands in the Southern Hemisphere like Antarctica and New Zealand. You'll get to meet some pretty neat feathered friends called penguins. These places are far away so we will need to fly to get there. Don't forget to pack your favorite stuffed animal, some good food, a camera and questions that you have about penguins.

This will be a quick trip so we need to collect as much information as we can about where penguins live, what they eat and other interesting facts. Tell your parents not to worry; we'll be back soon!!

Learning Advice

Any of the underlined words are links that will take you to other places.

There are at least 2 sites for each penguin. Remember to take notes on your Penguin Notes page when you find the information that you need.

When you are finding out the height and weight of your penguin, make sure you check out the unit that the author of that site used. The weight might be in pounds (lb.) or kilograms (kg) and the height might be in inches (in) or centimeters (cm).

In order to get back to this page you must use the back arrow (usually on the left top bar).

Remember to print out a picture of your penguin. Ask for adult help when you are ready to print. This will help you with your visual aid that you need to accompany your Newscast.

If you need help with your Quest, whether it be finding your way around the Internet or reading some of the information, please feel free to ask an adult to help you.

Most important--- HAVE FUN and ENJOY YOUR JOURNEY!!
