Student Work

First grade students had a writing prompt this week. The prompt was, "One spring day a skunk wanders into your classroom. What are the results? Write a story about the skunk that visited school. I thought you might want to see some of the children's stories!

The skunk started to smell really bad and the skunk rips all the paper. The skunk knocked everything down. Then the teacher yells and she said, "Don't do that," and he doesn't stop. Then in a couple minutes the skunk stops and it goes outside.

By Eliza

He was scared but he did not spray at all. But then he wiggled and jiggled and he sprayed us and he never sprayed us again. And we opened the door. That didn't work. So we tried the window. That worked and we cried, "Yay, the skunk is gone." But another skunk wanders in. "Oh, no," they cried but the skunk wanders out. The End

By Simon

The skunk was scared and he sprayed the classroom. The teacher said, "Plug your noses." So they did. The skunk was tired and he went in the recycling bin and went to sleep. So the teacher picked up the recycling bin and put it in the hall and opened the window.

By Cassidy

The skunk sprayed us. We said, "Disgusting." Then we kicked it out. Then we said, "Finally no skunk." And then another skunk came in. Then Mrs. Lynch kicked it out again. The End
