INTRODUCTION

        Welcome to the web quest portion of the Super Cereal Study. I am hoping that you will enjoy poking around the world of breakfast foods, while you earn credits for your final grade, learn some important information for life, and maybe have some fun, as well.

         We started looking at breakfast cereals in my classroom, downstairs at School Street School, in 1984. Back then, no matter how we re-arranged the data, Post Raison Bran would win the "Best Cereal" every single year. Go figure, it must have been a pretty good cereal. Now, we do not try to take every cereal and enter it into competition. Too many to work with !

         Just as is true with any other food you choose to buy, you can make good and bad decisions about breakfast cereals. It is hoped that you will come out of this web quest more informed about :

        Probably, when you're done, you will be as lovable as Tony the Tiger, 

 

       you will have the leadership of Captain Crunch,

 

      and you'll have better luck getting cereal than the Trix rabbit.

      Remember, you will get out of this web quest exactly what you put into it. Seeing as you apparently have to do it, you might as well give it your best effort. Good luck !

THE TASKS

CONCLUSION

        This is the conclusion of the Super Cereal Study. I am hoping that you enjoyed using it. It is part of the modernization of a really old and favorite unit of mine. Please make sure that you have done all the work that was asked of you. Completeness of your work will be a criterion by which we judge you.

         The wonder of today's computer and the worldwide web make this study so much easier and more interesting than in 1984, when we could not organize the data on spreadsheets, we could not read about cereal on the web, and our biggest goal was finding the best cereal.

         The cereals are getting better all the time, and so is the study. Thanks for participating.
